Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

We design, fabricate, and install a full range of commercial signs, including channel letters, cabinet and box signs, monument and pylon signs, panel and wall signs, interior branding, LED message centers, vehicle wraps, and printed graphics like banners and yard signs.

No. We work with local businesses, single-location owners, property managers, and national brands. Whether you need one storefront sign or a multi-location rollout, we can help.

Our core service area covers Virginia and surrounding regions, and through our partner network we can coordinate projects in other states as well. If you’re unsure whether you’re in our service area, visit our Service Areas page or contact us.

Quotes, Pricing & Design

The fastest way is to use our Get a Quote page. You can share your sign idea, provide basic project details, and upload photos. A team member will review your information and follow up with pricing and next steps.

At minimum, we need:

  • Business name and installation address
  • Type of sign or service you’re interested in
  • Approximate size or available space
  • Photos of the building or install location (if possible)

The more detail you can provide, the more accurate your initial estimate will be.

Yes. We can work from your existing logo or create new layouts and sign designs for you. You’ll receive proofs to review and approve before anything goes into production.

Ideal formats are vector files such as EPS, AI, SVG, or high-resolution PDF. We can also work with high-quality PNG or JPG files, but vector artwork produces the cleanest results.

Permits, Codes & Approvals

In most cases, yes. Many municipalities require permits for exterior signs, especially illuminated signs, pylons, and monuments. Requirements vary by city, county, and zoning district.

Yes. We routinely assist with permitting and can:

  • Review local sign codes and size limitations
  • Prepare drawings and documents for submission
  • Coordinate with zoning and building departments

Visit our Permit Info page for more details.

Many shopping centers and office parks have their own sign criteria. We’ll review any landlord guidelines you have and design your sign to meet both property standards and local codes.

Production & Installation

Timelines vary by project and permitting, but a typical illuminated sign project often follows this pattern:

  • Design & approvals: ~1–2 weeks (depending on response time)
  • Permitting: ~2–6 weeks (varies by locality)
  • Fabrication: ~2–4 weeks after permit & artwork approval
  • Installation: Scheduled as soon as the sign is ready and weather allows

If you have a specific deadline, let us know on the Get a Quote form and we’ll discuss options.

Yes. We can safely remove and dispose of existing signage as part of your project, including cabinet signs, channel letters, faces, and poles (where applicable).

We offer sign repair, LED/power supply replacement, and face replacement. You can request service through our quote form or by contacting us with photos of the issue.

LED, Digital & Electrical

Yes. Modern LED lighting uses significantly less power than older fluorescent or neon systems, with lower maintenance and longer lifespan. We also offer retrofit options to convert existing signs to LED.

In many cases, yes. We can evaluate your current sign cabinet or channel letters and recommend a retrofit solution that improves brightness, efficiency, and reliability.

Vehicle Wraps & Graphics

Quality vinyl wraps typically last several years with proper care. We use materials designed for outdoor use, UV exposure, and complex vehicle contours.

Absolutely. We can handle single vehicles or full fleets, and we’ll keep your artwork on file to maintain consistent branding across every unit.

Billing & Warranty

We typically require a deposit to begin production, with the balance due upon completion. We accept standard business payment methods; details will be provided with your quote or invoice.

Yes. We stand behind our workmanship and materials. Warranty coverage may vary by product type (sign structure, LEDs, power supplies, and digital components), and specific terms will be included in your quote.
